ERCP in Bhiwani
ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) combines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat conditions of the bile ducts and pancreatic duct, including the removal of gallstones that have moved into the bile duct.
What it's used for
ERCP is used to remove bile duct stones, place stents to relieve blockages, and investigate causes of jaundice or unexplained bile duct narrowing.
What to expect
The procedure is performed under sedation and requires fasting beforehand. Recovery time and any necessary observation period is explained individually based on the specific treatment performed.
When to consult
Consider a consultation if you have jaundice, upper abdominal pain associated with gallstones, or have been advised by another doctor that a bile duct blockage needs treatment.
